This is a small-group guided hiking trip led by Shameer, with lots of learning along the way. A delightful and relaxed hiking experience that also wanders through a diverse range of natural settings and habitat. Included are numerous hilltop vistas whilst being surrounded by ancient woodlands and forests which include a mix of narrow trails, paths and some bridleways. This Chiltern Hills hiking trip is very impressive, just as impressive as the rolling hills that encompass the walking trails. Both beginner and intermediate hikers would enjoy this 7.5 mile day hike.

Additional information

Please eat breakfast before arrival, or you can grab a quick bite at the café.
You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch/sandwich.
If you’d like, bring a few snacks such as fruit, energy bars.
Please bring a water bottle.

It’s the British Isles after all so let’s talk about weather:
Autumn (September – October – November)
Autumn in recent years, has been mild but can be windy and wet. One of my favourite seasons, as the leaves change to delightful colours and the temperature dips in the evenings and early mornings.

The weather plays a huge role for outdoor activities in the UK and can often be unpredictable. You may have heard the saying, “there’s nothing like bad weather, only the wrong clothing!” So, let’s dive in on what to bring.

What to pack in terms of clothes:

  • Waterproof Rain jacket
  • Waterproof or water repellent trousers (if you have any) *Please try to avoid cotton outer layers as they don’t dry quick enough if they get wet.
  • Fleece top / warm jumper
  • Sun-visor cap / Beanie hat
  • Scarf / gloves
  • Hiking boots / shoes

We may never need the jackets and warm clothes, but it’s best to pack them in your daypack. Only you know what your comfort level is and so, pack what makes you comfortable.

What else you might want to bring:

  • Daypack / rucksack
  • Water bottle (at least 1.5 litres of water)
  • Mobile phone
  • Power cables
  • Portable power pack
  • Wallet – some cash / credit card etc. for coffee/brew/food
  • Sunglasses
