A 5 mile circular country walk from Amersham through the Chess Valley. Explore the history of human habitation along the river, from watermills to watercress, and farms to manor houses.

Teresa, who volunteers regularly at Amersham Museum, developed this walk during 2021 as part of the Museum’s wider programme.

Terrain info: There are no stiles, but the route is not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.

Meet in Amersham-on-the-Hill at the junction of New Road with Chestnut Lane. There is kerb-side parking available near the meeting point.
