We are delighted to welcome Lachlan Stuart to the team this week. Lachlan will take on the role of Project Manager for our Chalk, Cherries and Chairs landcape partnership scheme, which aims to connect local people to the wildlife and cultural heritage of the Central Chilterns.
Lachlan is a policy and projects manager with a professional background in both human and environmental resource management, including more than three decades of experience working in the Westminster Parliament, for the European Commission, at Defra and in the Scottish Government, where he was responsible for fisheries negotiations and marine environmental protection.
He is a keen champion of diversity and community empowerment and an irregular competitor on the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Association’s World Tour, with a small shelf of tournament trophies from Dublin, Katowice, Essen and Madrid.
Chalk Cherries and Chairs is an ambitious five-year scheme, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The scheme operates under three themes - wildlife, heritage and people - but the projects which fall under these three themes are all designed with the Chilterns landscape in mind. No less than ei
ghteen interweaving projects share common threads, including volunteering, learning and digital media. The scheme will also provide small grants to encourage community initiatives. Read more about the project here.
