The Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership Scheme is a five-year environmental programme designed to restore and enhance the wildlife habitats, landscape features and cultural heritage of the Central Chilterns whilst educating and inspiring communities to become protectors of their local heritage and landscapes.
A dedicated Landscape Development Team has worked tirelessly with partners to develop the Scheme over the last 2 years, and we're thrilled to see our collective efforts for this ambitious project realised.
The Scheme will help connect local people to the wildlife and cultural heritage of some 278km2 of the Central Chilterns landscape through 18 individual, but interwoven, projects which will include volunteering opportunities, education, digital media and a offering a Small Grants Scheme to support community initiatives.
Thanks to the National Lottery players and a wide range of partnership funders, this exciting project will leave a legacy for the future of wildlife and community heritage for current and future generations.
Recruitment of a project team is now under way and we aim to appoint the position by early summer 2019. To find out more about the vacancies, please click here.
