Celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III by doing something for your local River and chalk stream. King Charles III suggests that we do something to volunteer, and environmental issues have always been close to his heart. Here are chances to volunteer on the River Chess for the Coronation Bank holiday, led by the River Chess Association!
Under the guidance of knowledgeable and experienced leaders, small teams will take on projects at various points along the river to help clean and secure the banks, beds and surrounding areas, improving the habitat for all wildlife. This is a great way to have fun with friends and family, entertain the kids, spot wildlife (like trout, otters, kingfishers, voles, swans and even birds of prey!), get out into the countryside and make a real difference to our river – the lifeblood of our locality.
