On Sunday 9th July 10am until 5pm put on your eco hat and pop down to the Green Festival at Chiltern Open Air Museum in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire.

There will be over 30 handpicked eco-friendly exhibitors and market stallholders who are all passionate about the environment, family activities including a fantastic theatre performance from Arbor the Tree the 18ft puppet, a river nymph riding her horse, and live music from Bottle Folk on Tour. There will be a wellbeing section where you can try yoga and Thai chi, and Chiltern Sound Spa will be offering taster sessions. You can immerse yourself in nature with local bushcraft expert David Willis, who will be providing guided woodland tours and spoon carving demonstrations. There will be specialist talks and delicious street food to purchase.

Environmental specialists including Dr Wendy Morrison, Allen Beechey, Adrian Porter and Paul Jennings will be giving talks about chalk streams, the River Chess and how humans have shaped the Chilterns. There will also be opportunities to learn ways of saving water, composting and generally learning what you can do to help look after the environment.

COAM’s team of gardeners will be on hand to chat to visitors about the gardens and ‘Dig for Victory’ allotment and children can help dig for potatoes and follow the scarecrow trail. You can make bird boxes with the team from Wood Oaks Farm, get creative with Watford Recycling Arts Project using recycled materials, chat to our beekeeper about the bees on site and honey, and see what is in the Bucks Amphibian and Reptile Group’s vivarium.

Head to the artisan market where you will be able to buy eco-friendly products from a wide range of stalls and chat to the many local conservation groups and organisations about their work and projects.

Pre-booked tickets cost £14 for adults, £13 for concessions and £8 for children, with free entry for under 4s.
