For our Britain at War weekend we will be joined by 8 re-enactment groups depicting different wartime periods throughout Britain’s history. Visit the living history camps and watch a variety of displays from across the nation’s history.

Timings for the event

American Infantry demonstrating soldiers from field headquarters in England prior to D-Day. Church memorial display by US army chaplain at 10.30am
WW2 life on the home front. Fire display at 10.45am
Jeep, Jump, Jive 1940s music and Lindy hop dancing 11am, 1pm & 3pm
Medieval longbow demonstration 11.30am
Napoleonic War soldier firing display 12.15pm
Crimean war talk and kit comparison 12.45pm
Medieval arming of the knight 1.40pm
Medieval war horse – skill at arms and mounted combat display 2pm
WW1 looking at the role of the railways, life on the home front, Queen Mary’s Auxiliary Army Corps. Leach Trench Catapult demonstrations at 2.30pm
Fake news or deceiving the enemy – talk by Ron Koorm writer of Backing Bletchley (Sunday only) 3pm.
