In the corner of a field in Harefield is this unusual sycamore. It is well known to members of Ruislip NHS - not the National Health Service but the Natural History Society. Due to its unusual base, it looks like there is the remains of one ancient tree or possibly two.
As you can see from the photograph the tree also provides a comfortable resting place for its visitors.
