In 1887, John Lowe wrote in his book Yew Trees of Great Britain and Ireland that there was a massive yew tree at Medmenham.
A Reverend W Hill measured the girth at 3 feet and recorded it as 11' 8". he also notes that the trunk was solid and clear - no hollow sections or growth on the trunk.
Is the Medmenham yew still there? Or is it long gone? Please get in touch if you know.
