These ash trees have grown unchecked in the grounds of the Dunstable Baptist Church.
The seeds of ash trees are carried on the wind and it looks as if these trees sprang up naturally rather than being planted. As the seeds fell close to the gravestones the young saplings were probably protected from the gardeners' mowers.
Their initial growth may have occurred during the Second World War when grounds maintenance may have lapsed.
Do you have photo of these trees, maybe in your wedding photos or from a church fete? If so, please get in touch.
The Church is in the public car park between Wilkinson's store and the Dunstable police station.
