This old oak tree is very special to its owner, who in recent years has gained a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) for the tree.
Many years ago, the tree was cut down at ground level, to then regrow 5 trunks. One trunk was felled when the house was built in 1958. The removal of another trunk, by someone other than the landowner, prompted the TPO. Please note that trees are always the property of the landowner.
This entry in the Special Woods Art Competition 2008 shows that this magnificent tree is loved by other local people.
If you decide to visit this special tree please park safely and admire the tree from the pavement.
