Celebrate 25 years of The Chilterns Chalk Stream Project with a guided historical walk along the River Ver!
Join Dr Wendy Morrison (Chilterns Conservation Board) and John Pritchard (Ver Valley Society) for an exploration of the Urban Ver and the history and archaeology around it.
Over the last few millennia, the River Ver has been used for food production, milling, and navigation as well as a focus for ritual activity. Walking along the Ver Valley, you will learn the history of the Ver, and its role in the development of St Albans from its prehistoric and Roman foundations, through medieval developments, to recent times.
