An introductory workshop on the use of GIS software in archaeology. The four-hour session will cover key basic principles including an introduction to GIS and its uses, the theory behind spatial references systems and spatial data formats, and then will run through several basic workflows, with participants gaining practical experience of using the open source software QGIS through hands-on practice.
Participants will need to bring their own laptop.
