Some of the following walks include parts of The Ridgeway or Thames Path National Trails and other long distance routes. They are all on well-signposted paths and many offer stunning views of the rolling Chiltern Hills. The area is characterised by historic buildings, country villages and pubs, which make excellent starting points as well as places to eat, drink and shop.

Distance: Walks of 2.5 miles, 5 miles and 7.5 miles Route: From Henley-on-Thames along the River Thames and into the Hambleden Valley and Aston village. Can be combined with a boat trip on the river during the summer. Phone: 01844 355500
Passes water meadows, historic towns and lovely villages. Relatively gentle and accessible for walkers of all ages and abilities Distance: 294km/184 miles Route: Follows the Thames from its source in Gloucestershire to London. The path passes along the edge of the Chiltern Hills from Wallingford to Marlow via Goring and Henley-on-Thames. Phone: 01865 810224
These circular walks take you from picturesque Goring along the River Thames, through wildflower meadows and to the top of the North Wessex Downs. Location: 8 miles north of Reading Distance: 4, 4.5, 5.5, 7.5 or 10 mile walks Phone: 01844 355500
Location: Off the A413, five miles south of Aylesbury, Bucks Distance: 3.5 miles or 7 miles Route: One routes takes you up to Coombe Hill (National Trust) with views of Chequers. The other route takes you up to the highest point in the Chilterns in Wendover Woods (Forestry Commission). Both routes include parts of The Ridgeway National Trail
