Welcome to the people and places collection
|
|
This is a brand new section and we will be adding profiles of special people and places continuously. At present we have only a few profiles but aim to have more than one hundred by the autumn of 2008. We would welcome your suggestions and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in undertaking the research for a place or person they think has a special connection with the Chilterns.
From famous artists to world-renowned authors, eminent politicians to kings and queens, the Chilterns has long been associated with famous people from British history.
In this section you can find out all about these people, which parts of the Chilterns they are linked with and what you can visit today connected with them. You can also explore local buildings, places and features which have a wealth of history associated with them.
There are lots of fascinating facts waiting to be discovered – start exploring!
