The Chilterns Conservation Board is supporting a scheme
to produce high-quality beef and lamb from animals raised
and finished on the Chiltern Hills.
All the farmers taking part are following conservation plans to protect and enhance the wildlife habitats of the Chilterns particularly valuable chalk grassland habitat with its diversity of wildflowers. The farmers are also working to high welfare standards. The resulting meat products are being marketed under the Chilterns Choice brand and are available direct to the public in a variety of mail order boxes.
