The current Management Plan for the Chilterns AONB was published in 2002. The law requires that it is reviewed within five years of being published and so a process of reviewing it has got underway. The aim is that a new set of policies and actions for managing the Chilterns will be put in place for the period 2008 – 2013.
During the review process everyone will have the chance to have their say about how they think the Chilterns should be managed in the future, and what issues need tackling.
draft management plan 2008 – 2013 consultation
A draft Management Plan for the Chilterns AONB, covering the period 2008 – 2013, has been prepared and is now available for public consultation. It identifies management issues faced by the AONB and proposes policies and actions to guide the work of all those who care for the area over the next five years.
The Conservation Board is keen to get comments on the draft Plan. All comments received will be taken into consideration in finalising the Plan later this year.
In preparing the Plan, the Conservation Board has undertaken a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of it and is assessing the implications of the SEA under the Habitats Regulations.
The draft Plan plus accompanying SEA documents are available to download below. If you or your organisation would like to submit comments on any of them please send them to cforrest@chilternsaonb.orgby the deadline of 22nd September 2008.
