Conservation Board

The Chilterns Conservation Board is the public body established to conserve and enhance the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Using the links on the left you can find out more about the Board’s role, its membersmeetings and publications. You can read the Chilterns AONB Management Plan, produced by the Board to guide the work of all those who care for the area. The Chilterns Conservation Board was established by Parliamentary Order in 2004. It is one of only two Conservation Boards in the country, the other being for the Cotswolds AONB. It has 27 members drawn from local communities in the Chilterns, and a staff team of 9 based in Chinnor, Oxfordshire.
