Local artist, Jayne Ford, walks in Gutteridge Wood regularly with her children. Jayne finds said the walks are "usually a lively experience full of sounds and movement".
Gutteridge Wood inspired Jayne to create this painting which she entered in the 2008 Special Woods Art Competition. She found that returning "to this place of vibrancy in such different circumstances, alone and with the sole intention of trying to capture it's beauty, made me realise how diverse the wood's appeal is. I tried to capture the wood as it is after we have left, the silence and dominance of the trees, and general stillness of nature uninterrupted."
