Downley Common has many trees which have been special to generations of local children.
Even though the buses passed along the north end of Downley Common, this ancient beech was used for playing 'wait for the bus'. Despite the long wait it was a popular game with local children.
Can you remember playing here? If so, let us know.
For many years these two oak trees have been favourites amongst local children as they are easy to climb. If you have photos of any of these trees, please get in touch.
This tree was another popular meeting place for local children. In the past children from Downley Lane put on little plays under the tree.
