These walks take you through the countryside estates of West Wycombe, Bradenham and Hughenden where there are fantastic views, magnificent beech woods and carpets of bluebells and wild flowers. You can see places of great architecture and historic interest and wildlife such as red kites and muntjac deer. You can explore West Wycombe Hill, Naphill Common and Downley Common, three of the 200 commons in the Chilterns which all contain centuries of local history. You can break your walk with a tasty meal or refreshing drink.
A children's quiz has been developed for the Hughenden and Downley Walk. There are fun questions for children to answer as they go round the route about what they can see.
For those with a particular interest in the historic, geological and archaeological features to be found on the Hughenden to Downley section there is a downloadable sheet.
