The scenic countryside of the Chilterns and its proximity to London means that it is enjoyed by millions of visitors every year. Most come on daytrips and their favourite activity is to go on walks and appreciate the stunning views from the Chilterns ridge. Others use the quiet lanes and bridleways to cycle and horseride. There is great potential here for local businesses, from village shops to pubs and B & Bs. The Conservation Board is very keen to help them make the most of it.

The Board is building a network of local tourism and hospitality businesses in the Chilterns. The aim of the network is to improve business practice within the industry whilst also promoting the conservation and quiet enjoyment of the Chilterns countryside. Training events, email newsletters and networking opportunities are all being offered to network members. If you are interested in becoming a member, at no cost, please contact the Chilterns Conservation Board on 01844 355500 or email office@chilternsaonb.org.

Three visitor itineraries have been produced for the northern Chilterns, encouraging visitors to leave their cars behind and get out on foot or bike to explore this lovely area. An example of an itinerary produced by a local business can be found on this page.
